Dartrakh was once a caring and brave Great Being that ruled his galaxy with benevolence alongside Antrahk and the other Great Beings assigned to that realm.
When the Shadow Vorkrei refugees travelled to Dartrakh's dominion after their planet was destroyed in a catastrophic energy storm, Dartrakh showed no mercy whatsoever and urged for the Shadow Vorkrei and their leader, Dartoba, to leave the galaxy at once. But the Shadow Vorkrei were desperate, and the other Great Beings supported the Shadow Vorkrei, thus leaving Dartrakh alienated from the Council of Antrahk.
Dartrakh created a robotic servant to carry out his orders in an effort to drive the Shadow Vorkrei out of the galaxy. However his creation, which he named Vahkra, malfunctioned and tried to kill both Dartakh and Dartoba. The pair forgot their emnity as Vahkra attacked the two of them. Eventually, the two managed to destroy the mad servant, but the fight had left Dartrakh mortally wounded.
Antrahk and the rest of his council gathered to watch Dartakh apologise to Dartoba for his previous hostility towards the Shadow Vorkrei, and the Great Being passed on to create what is now known to be the Great Spirit himself. Antrahk and the others retired back to the heavens as Mata Nui birthed the Makuta and all that is known today in the Matoran Universe.

Dartrakh carried a Shadow sword that could cast a curtain of Shadow across a large area. He was also armed with twin buzzsaws on each of his elbows that could inflict severe damage on opponents. His elemental powers were Shadow and Fear, things he used to great effect when battling Dartoba in his struggle to control what he saw as his rightful dominion. As a Great Being, Dartrakh possessed profound knowledge and capabilities. He helped to mold the BIONICLE Universe as it is known today, along with the other Great Beings.
Personality[]
Dartrakh was a good and pure Great Being before the Shadow Vorkrei arrived in the galaxy. Yet he was always somewhat arrogant and abused his high status as Great Being, often defying Antrahk when the two had a disagreement. It is most likely that Dartrakh was pure and kind at heart, but was always easily seduced and corrupted by the prospect of great power. Dartrakh was an expert swordfighter, and preferred to face an enemy head-on and fairly, as he believed that was the most noble way of determining a victor in battle.
