Dartoba was the leader of the Shadow Vorkrei in the times before Mata Nui and the Matoran. He was most active during the reign of the Great Beings over the Jalkadomera Galaxy.

Biography[]
Over 100,000 years ago, a huge energy storm annihilated a planetary system somewhere on the very edges of the BIONICLE Universe. The people that lived there were all but wiped out, reduced to around 5 healthy survivors. The denizens of that planet were specially suited to be silent, and practiced the art of stealth. So, after the catastrophe, they called themselves the "Shadow Vorkrei".
Dartoba led the group of survivors to find a suitable planet to establish themselves, effectively to start their once- great civilization again. After many months, the Shadow Vorkrei finally stumbled upon a planet ruled by a noble group who called themselves the Great Beings.
That was when Dartoba met Dartrakh, a Great Being with big ideas. He had ruled this galaxy in peace without disturbance, and saw it as rightfully his. Dartoba was only met with animosity by Dartrakh, when the Shadow Vorkrei had been travelling months in desperation. So Dartoba planned his revenge...but Dartrakh had had the same idea, thus sparking a devastating conflict, with the other Great Beings trying to bring order to the galaxy and pleading Dartakh to negotiate.
After Dartrakh's bodyguard Vahkra went on a rampage, Dartoba joined Antrahk and the others to watch Dartrakh pass on to create the next Great Spirit to take his place. Dartoba evidently showed empathy for Dartrakh as the Great Being made clear his regrets of how he treated the Shadow Vorkrei.
Dartoba is presumed to have lived out the rest of his days with the Great Beings in the heavens, watching over the Matoran Universe that was soon after brought into existence by Mata Nui.
Abilities and Traits[]
Dartoba lacked the strength of Dartrakh but made up for it in stealth and agilty. His elemental power was Silence, and his slight frame allowed him to be agile and excellent at dodging attacks. At night, Dartoba often honed his skills at stealth so he could remain unseen by others, making him an ideal spy. He also had four wings on his back that allowed for him to fly limited distances, though he was rarely seen doing so, in an effort to remain inconspicious.
Weapons and Equipment[]
Dartoba carried a protosteel sword and dagger for close-quarter combat, and his clawed feet and hands also made him deadly in melee combat. Dartoba is speculated to be a very distant ancestor of the Rahkshi.
