The Dark Masters are a group of dark toa created by Makuta in the Reforged Blade Universe. They are not twisted mirror versions of the Mata, but their characters do parallel each other.
History[]
The Dark Masters were created for the same purpose as the Mata, save their creator. The Dark Masters didn't seek out Ekimu, like the Mata, they sought Makuta. The Dark Masters arrived on Okoto a time before the Mata, but in a similar fashion. However, when they arrived, they were not in an amnesiac state, and they knew what their mission was. By moving stealthily, they traveled across Okoto undetected until they reached the tomb where Makuta's body was, and using their elemental powers, they revived him. As he regained strength, Makuta began amassing his skull spiders and skull warriors.The actions of the Dark Masters went unnoticed for a while, and so they were able to reach and revive their master, and gather his forces. However, when Makuta sent them after the Masks of Control and Ultimate Power they encountered their counterpart toa team. The nature of the conflicting goals between the two teams led to a rivalry. Each toa saw their counterpart as a cheap copy of themselves, and thus made several attempts to eliminate them. Due to the evenness of each toa's power level, there were very few decisive victories.

Trivia[]
- The Dark Masters have no official "leader" in the field, as all of their orders come from Makuta, but before they revived Makuta, Etherak most closely resembled a leader, and this sometimes can be seen when the team is on a mission.
- Darkblade9 drew all of his drawings for the Dark Masters while listening to Cryoshell music.
