Summer-Writing-Contest-2019

Hello, and welcome to the official page for the Summer Writing Contest 2019!

THIS CONTEST ENDS OCTOBER 1ST.

VOTING ENDS NOVEMBER 1ST.

Introduction[]

Ah, summer. We all have fond memories of it. We can probably all remember a time when we all played with our BIONICLE sets outside on a fine summer’s day. We told stories of daring heroism against unspeakable odds and dangers.

Now, while we’ve all grown up, we can still channel those stories and make something that resonates with our childhood selves, and something that will bring us back to those simpler days.

Summer is a time for fun and relaxation; a time for reflection and optimism. Let those feelings flow through you as you participate in this year’s Summer Writing Contest!

How to Enter[]

Write up your story, submit it in the entries section on the talk page, and that's it!

Guidelines[]

  1. The story must have a distinct feel and setting grounded in summer. It is a summer writing contest, after all.
  2. Once a story is submitted it cannot be significantly altered, though minor syntax fixes are permitted.
  3. Entries must be submitted on the wiki for consideration. While we may advertise on other networks, there is no substitute for a good old wiki-coded story article.
  4. All entries must be originally written for the contest. Pre-existing stories unfortunately cannot be entered. Similarly, it should go without saying that there will be consequences for plagiarism. If you use a headcanon, be sure to acknowledge the creative input of the original theorist.
  5. A reasonable degree of canon-compliance is expected of all entrants. If a story deviates too far from established BIONICLE lore, then it may be subject to penalty in the form of disqualification.
  6. Comics and videos are permitted.
  7. Stories can be set in either the first or second generations of BIONICLE, but there can be no direct crossovers.
  8. Keep the story consistent and have it make sense.
  9. Adhere to the site policy, for obvious reasons.
  10. Voting for your own entry is not permitted.
  11. Have fun!
