The Kanohi Crast was the Mask of Repulsion, a Kanohi that allowed its bearer to create a charged Repulsion Field around themselves, repelling an object or assailant with tremendous force.
History[]
The Kanohi Crast traces its origins back to some of the earliest mask-making techniques adopted on Metru Nui, where an unclear number of Crast masks were created for the Matoran populace. At this point in the history of the Matoran Universe, the Crast bore no elemental affiliation and efforts to craft the mask proved highly volatile.
Following the Velika's Awakening of the Matoran Universe's inhabitants after the Great Spirit Robot left Spherus Magna, the Crast came to be considered a highly Immoral Kanohi by Matoran crafters. As such, Matoran generally chose to abandon their Kanohi Crast, fearful of its destructive properties.
Over the 100,000 year span of the Matoran Universe's functionality, the Crast became an uncommon Kanohi, proving more popular among members of the Makuta species. In Metru Nui the mask could crafted with relative ease exclusively using Shrink and Enlarge Kanoka disks, though Turaga Dume later outlawed the production of Immoral Kanohi.
Unfettered by the restraints of the Matoran conscience, Makuta Krika was known to have worn a Great Crast as his signature Kanohi.

The Kanohi Crast is able to send any two solid objects hurtling away from each other at high speeds. While the mask could only be used on one target at a time, its force often proves an effective countermeasure against physical assault, though it can be resisted if a target approaches the bearer with enough brute force. Moreover, the Crast has been used to repel the bearer off the ground, creating the illusion of flight.
While this power seems to be fairly modest, and it is indeed one of the less unsavoury immoral Kanohi, Toa have come to reject this mask as it violates the basic laws of physics. The ability of this mask to overturn the laws of inertia and equal force netting an equal reaction has manifested in a belief that the Crast repels nature itself.
Noble[]
No Noble Crast has ever been recorded being seen as Toa have not worn this mask. It is speculated that the operational range of a Noble Crast would be reduced, as its ability to repel objects cannot be physically reduced.
