The Core Universe also known as the Prime Reality, is the universe where the main events of BIONICLE take place.
History[]
Its earliest history is unknown. The Great Beings came to rule the warriors and Agori of Spherus Magna, though they later granted Element Lords leadership in order to focus on their projects.
In the Shattering, Energized Protodermis in the core of Spherus Magna caused it to explode, breaking it into three major parts: Aqua Magna, Bota Magna, and Bara Magna. Many inhabitants survived on Bota Magna and Bara Magna, though the Great Beings disappeared.
Mata Nui, the Great Spirit within a massive robot, was tasked with recreating Spherus Magna from the parts following a journey to learn from cultures on other planets. Many biomechanical beings (such as the Matoran) resided within the Great Spirit in order to keep him functioning, unbeknownst to them.
One of these in the Matoran Universe, Makuta Teridax, rebelled against the Great Spirit and put him to sleep with a virus. Mata Nui crashed on Aqua Magna in the Great Cataclysm, where he remained until the Toa Nuva reawakened him. However, Teridax managed to take over the robot before the Rising, and ejected Mata Nui from his body in the Kanohi Ignika.
The Kanohi Ignika landed on Bara Magna, and upon gaining strength, Teridax followed to finish him off. With the help of the Bara Magnan tribesmen, Mata Nui managed to fight him with a Prototype Robot and reform Spherus Magna with their gravity powers. A piece of Aqua Magna fell and killed Teridax while they fought, and the inhabitants of the robot joined those of the newly recreated Spherus Magna.
