The Chronicler's Bureau is a global coalition of Matoran Chroniclers created in Spherus Magna. Its headquarters are located within Metru Magna.

The organization was founded by Kopeke, who assumed the mantle of First Chronicler. The Chronicler's Bureau is composed mainly of Matoran, although many Agori have also been admitted in recent years.

Description

The Chronicler's Bureau was created to allow the equal recording and distribution of major events in Spherus Magna society. Chroniclers from all over the planet gather stories and then reunite in their headquarters once a year to discuss them among each other and tender them for public distribution.

Spherus Magna governments have widely varying policies towards the Chronicler's Bureau, which control what they can research and write. The Spherus Magna Council guarantees the freedom of Chroniclers within their jurisdiction, while other nations like Xianori severely restrict what Chroniclers can research or publish.

Due to their highly important role and to the objective of keeping history as unbiased as possible, Chroniclers are forbidden from joining any other public organization and are considered to be a completely neutral group. They are also expected to give up their right to get actively involved in any social or political conflicts when they join the Bureau.

Being a Chronicler is an esteemed position in Spherus Magna society and it is also handsomely paid.

To be accepted into the Chronicler's Bureau, a candidate must first enroll in the Chronicler's Program at the University of Spherus Magna in Xianori. Applicants must get satisfactory academic credentials before they are accepted into the actual training program. The Bureau will look into the criminal records of the applicants, and those without a clean one will not make the cut. Chronicler training mainly involves survival skills, methods of investigation, ethics, and curation of data.

All official Chroniclers are equipped with a Chronicler Pack issued by the Bureau. A modern piece of technology developed by the Po-Matoran Defrejj, this backpack is able to record all of the user's experiences, effectively serving as an auxiliary brain, and holds a great array of tools and functions. Among those, it contains a tracking device that allows the Bureau to locate the wearer in case of emergency, communications tools directly linked to the headquarters in Metru Magna, supplemental Matoran charging cells, flashlights, and other survival functions. The technology of disks of Translation was also integrated, allowing the wearer to record information and decipher it quickly.
