- "I..I.. have a name, it's.. it's Chedaru!"
- ―Chedaru talking back to "Outlaw." Vengeance of Chkalon Ep.4
Chedaru is a Ta-Matoran Rahi Wrangler from the Matoran Universe now residing on Spherus Magna.
History[]
Early Life[]
Chedaru, like the other Matoran were created by the Great Beings to construct and then inhabit the Matoran Universe over 100,000 years ago. Chedaru himself found work as a Rahi Wrangler, often riding and herding Rahi for use in construction and other manual labour tasks.
Reformation of Spherus Magna[]
After Makuta Teridax was killed by Mata Nui, Chedaru, along with the rest of the inhabitants of the Matoran Universe exited out onto the planet of Spherus Magna. Chedaru would then go on to live in a new Koro established by the Turaga Casro. Here, Chedaru would once again ply his trade as a Rahi Wrangler, learning how to tame and ride the new, unfamiliar creatures that inhabited Spherus Magna, including turkeys, which would become one of his favourites.
Chedaru would also partially witness the deaths of the Toa Trahi and Turaga Ulter as they were stationed at his Koro at the time of their demise.
Vengeance of Chkalon[]
One day, as he was with one of his prized turkeys, Chedaru would be approached by the Dark Hunter, "Outlaw," and his Skrall sister companion, Mekad, on the whereabouts of the nearest village on their search for clues on the Toa, Neeva, whom they did not know was deceased. Chedaru would bring "Outlaw" and Mekad to the Turaga Casro who would point them to the whereabouts of Neeva's remains. Chedaru would then follow "Outlaw" and Mekad to Sanction Island where they had a brief encounter with its guardian, Sequoia. Chedaru would unintentionally land the decisive blow to Sequoia in their skirmish and the three would use the Red Star teleporter there to transport themselves to the Red Star where they would successfully request the Kestora to resurrect the fallen Toa.
Chedaru would then be present for the rematch between "Outlaw" and Neeva where "Outlaw" would ultimately spare Neeva's life. After reconciling with "Outlaw," Neeva would go on to impart part of her power into a Toa Stone which she would give to Chedaru before going on her way.
In Search of Treasure[]
A few months after the events of Vengeance of Chkalon, Chedaru struggles to activate his Toa Stone and become a Toa. Believing he needs to find Neeva again to figure out how, he packs up until Agilla finds him and chastises him for his idea. Before long, Agilla volunteers herself to go with him to Neo-Metru.
Personality and Traits[]
Naive to a fault, Chedaru is meek and not one for conflict. Uncommon for Ta-Matoran, Cheddar's personality is not fiery at all, and he barely ever gets worked up over anything. He idolized Neeva as the epitome of a Toa, her story of overcoming death to fight again, which he found inspiring.
Chedaru is also not very observant or wise as evidenced by his reaction to receiving a Toa Stone.
Powers and Tools[]
As a Matoran, Chedaru has inactive fire elemental powers. As a Toa, these elemental powers became accessible. Chedaru wears a Kanohi Elda, mask of detection, in the shape of a Hau that allows Chedaru to detect hidden or invisible beings as well as get headaches when approaching the Ignika, Mask of Life.
Chedaru, as a Toa, wields a minor flame staff, modelled after Neeva's flame staff, and a small shield in their offhand.
