Calbus is a member of Tobduk's species and the leader of the Kraawa Gang bounty hunters.
History[]
Calbus originally lived on a small island called Visorak. His race, the Visorian, lived peacefully in a series of small villages, keeping to themselves. At some point, Makuta Chirox arrived on Visorak. The locals were unsure what to make of his presence; it quickly turned out to be unwanted when Chirox released an army of spider Rahi, (later named Visorak after the island,) which rapidly decimated the land and the citizens.
About one hundred Visorian (including Calbus and Tobduk) managed to get away, sailing to the island of Xia. They stayed as a group due to their previous isolation, but split up after traveling to Stelt. Using their innate powers and the fighting skills learned in their brief time traveling, Calbus and a few others decided to form a loose bounty hunting union. After being attacked by Dark Hunters over a claimed bounty, they made a name for themselves. This hit squad was dubbed the "Kraawa Gang", after the elusive Rahi that only got larger if you hit it, which reflected their ability to grow in skill and experience after every time they fought.
Abilities and Traits[]
As a Visorian, Calbus has the ability to convert emotion into energy. In his specific case, this is the power to convert feelings of pride or glory into physical stamina. Because of this, he is usually in a positive mood, appearing very self-confident and possibly egotistical at times. After a battle it is not uncommon for Calbus to slowly walk through the battlefield observing the clean damage he inflicted, which boosts his own pride in himself, thereby strengthening him.
Since he is a bit short compared to most Visorian, and otherwise carries the appearance of a relatively generic humanoid, Calbus is sometimes mistaken for a Toa, which he finds funny. The Visorian has been known to use his Kanohi Crast to mimic a Toa of Magnetism's power to repel enemies, simply for his own amusement, and occasionally to his advantage in battle.
Mask and Tools[]
Calbus wears a Kanohi Crast in the shape of a Volitak. (As he is not a Toa, Calbus doesn't mind wearing an immoral Kanohi.) He also wields the Goldenheart Cannon as his primary weapon.
Trivia[]
- In Bionicle canon, the island was unnamed, and received its title after Makuta Chirox created the Visorak spiders on it. In the Chroverse, Visorak is the name of the island after which the spider Rahi are named.
- There is a theoretical fusion of Calbus and Dicalian named Dicalibus which may or may not be built some time in the future.
