Title Mask of Sense
Powers Used wearer's senses to detect things that are otherwise undetectable
Composite Disks Two Regenerate, Shrink, Enlarge
Pronunciation bu-sə-no-mən

The Kanohi Busanomen was the Mask of Sense. It allowed the user to detect things they otherwise couldn't detect by enhancing their own senses, in a manner similar to the Rode or Elda. Most commonly, the mask would enhance smelling and hearing, even to detect invisible objects. Instead of making things plain for the user to see, it would often exploit subtle cues, such as sound reflecting off of an invisible object or a disguised being not smelling how they usually smelled. Vision was normally only enhanced to help the user see things which were incorporeal or intangible. The extent of the senses the mask could enhance was vast, reaching from touch and taste to more obscure senses such as pain perception, temperature perception, and balance.

Example Usage[]

In Against the Storm/Volume IV, Corduk used his Great Busanomen for the first time to figure out that Phi was using her Mask of Disguise to impersonate Tesudin.

Wearers[]

Great[]

  • Toa Corduk - Shaped like a Great Tryna

Trivia[]

  • The mask's name is derived from busan no omen (ブーさんのお面), the Japanese name for the Mask of Scents, an item from the game The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask which enhances its wearer's sense of smell.
  • Originally, Corduk was to wear a Mask of Sensory Aptitude, with "Bongah" being its fanon name in a similar vein to Maroona's Isho. However, Chondrya disliked the powers the mask had and opted for a custom Kanohi which allowed one to manipulate their senses. After finding that this power was not very interesting when described in prose, she changed the mask again to its current state.
