The '''Breath of Mata Nui''' is a vitality farm on the [[Southern Continent]] of the [[Matoran Universe]]. Here, small amounts of the life forces of plants are harvested and stored, to be used by healers across the rest of the continent.

== History ==
In the wake of the [[Matoran Civil War]], a [[Kwulaguo|lone]] [[Huwnaui]] wanted to atone for his own crimes. Having also acted as a battlefield medic while fighting on the side of the Matoran dissidents, Kwulaguo decided to devote himself to healing damaged beings, regardless of species or affiliation.

With that purpose, he established the Breath of Mata Nui, which initially acted simply as a group of healers tending to the sick and damaged. However, after an encounter with [[Toa]] [[Whekto]], Kwulaguo learned that it was possible to harvest small amounts of life force from plants in order to aid the healing process.

Kwulaguo soon began hiring Toa - primarily Toa of [[Plantlife]] - to help cultivate the life-giving plants on the estate.

=== Return to Spherus Magna ===
Following the restoration of the planet [[Spherus Magna]], the Breath of Mata Nui was forced to abandon its forests and relocate to the new world, where it began to establish a new estate to heal those wounded in the [[Battle of Bara Magna]].

== Infrastructure ==
The entire operation is managed by an Overseer, Kwulaguo.

Several healers of various species , predominantly [[Toa]], [[Paraxx]] and [[Huwnaui]], are employed as healers, tending to the wounded and fixing their damages either through the use of powers, masks, or physical medicines and mechanical repairs.

Toa of Plantlife and Earth are also employed to cultivate the plants and soil in the Breath of Mata Nui's vast estate, to ensure that the life-giving plants thrive.

== Trivia ==
* No [[Dark Hunters]] have ever been treated by the Breath of Mata Nui. Though all species are welcome, Kwulaguo makes a point of not encouraging the behaviours of these mercenaries.
* Members of [[Brotherhood of Makuta]] were welcome until 1,000 years ago. However, few members were treated here, as the Brotherhood has its own, proficient healers.
