The Beljaav are a sapient species native originally to the Enyatsuu Archipelago near one of the Southern Islands, they have currently migrated to Spherus Magna.
History[]
The Oldest of Times[]
While most scriptures of their ancient history have been lost to time, It's hypothesized by Matoran that the Beljaav were created by the Great Beings, though for what purpose still remains unknown. The first recorded Beljaav appeared during the population of the Matoran Universe, migrating far to the south to a misty pair of islands apparently dubbed "Enyatsuu" by the new natives, a term meaning "Hope" in Old Beljaavish. Afterwards, more followed them and together they sculpted a mighty civilization across all of the islands.
in around 88,000 BGC, however, a powerful ruler named Ziennyl the Brave was assassinated, the kingdom was then divided into five warring vassals determined to snatch throne. To the south was the Fief of Cookuba, in the west was the Fief of Azrak, the East held the Fief of Menxi, the north bore the Fief of Wyramol, and finally in the center was the Fief of Gelodiz. The wars lasted for thousands of years, each one sprouting from territorial conflicts as well as competition for seizing control of all the islands.
Eventually, and infamous warlord known as Jue-Jon-Jepe, who was a veteran of many of the battles they held, succeeded the Throne after converting to the growing faith in the Great Spirit and, in the year 52,634 BGC, ascended to the throne by "Divine Right". What followed was a prosperous era of well-deserved peace and enlightenment. The Fiefs were unified under the New hierarchy and the land enjoyed a breadth of trade in the years that followed.

The native Language of the Beljaav is commonly known to Matoran as "Beljaavish",which is spoken exclusively on the archipelago from which it was born. while dialect varies depending on which island the speakers are located on, they all share phonetics usually found in an old, real-world Western and/or Eastern European Language.
