Barresh was the Toa Valmai of Plantlife before becoming the Turaga of Kora Nui.
History[]
Barresh was created as a Bo-Matoran by the Great Beings and placed in the Matoran Universe upon its completion. At some point, he was transformed into a Toa of Plantlife.
When the Great Spirit Mata Nui began to fall ill as a result of the Great Disruption caused by the Matoran Civil War, Barresh joined a team of Toa led by Toa Jovan that ventured to Voya Nui in search of the Kanohi Ignika, the Mask of Life. With the use of Barresh's Kanohi Elda, the Toa were able to locate the Mask of Life and use it to revitalize the Great Spirit.
Their mission complete and destiny fulfilled, the Toa Valmai went their separate ways and Barresh settled on the island of Kora Nui, where he transformed into a Turaga and became the elder of the Matoran living there.

As a Matoran, Barresh wore a powerless Kanohi Elda. When he transformed into a Toa, it became a Great Mask of Detection, which he later used to help the Toa Valmai locate the Mask of Life. When Barresh became a Turaga, his mask transformed into a Noble Elda.
