The Bahtareg were a mostly female species of anphibious creatures who lived in swamps or poluted lakes and fed off of polution.
History[]
When the Great Beings tried to create the Bahrag they failed many times. Through unknown circumstances the "failed attemps" were somehow fused with another of the Great Beings’ projects to create an amphibious breed of intelligent life that would later become the Bahtareg. The species snuck onto the Matoran Universe but hid in swamps, believing they were failures in the eyes of their creators.
Eventually a few Bahtareg left the swamps. These Bahtareg traveled the Matoran Universe and discovered they needed to feed off of pollution to survive. Luckily enough, some Bahtareg found a polluted lake, in which they established a village. The lake was polluted to the point that any normal creature would die upon exposure, but due to the Bahtareg’s nature the pollution only strengthened them.
Having found a more than habitable environment to live in the Bahtareg population exploded, to the point where it rivaled the Matoran population. Some Bahtareg would leave the lake, spreading the species to almost every swamp in the Matoran universe. Through sheer luck a settlement would eventually emerge in Karda Nui. Though the Energy Storms did not kill the Bahtareg they did change the Bahtareg's brain cells. This turned the Bahtareg of Karda Nui insane, effectively destroying the settlement.
The Bahtareg Grand Chief, Radozac, allied himself with ToaDaxanere after the Toa saved his life from a mutated Makuta. As a token of appreceation, Radozac allied the Bahtareg clans with Daxanere, essentially giving the Toa an army. After this, the Bahtareg were trained and became the elite army for the Society of Great Protectors.
Powers and Abilities[]
Bahtareg could control toxins and were strengthened by pollution. The Bahtareg had limited regeneration that would allow limbs to regenerate, but with less strength. The Bahtareg were immune to mutagen. Energy could not hurt the Bahtareg but it severely altered their brain.
