Baaru was one of four Toa Mangai of Ice.
History[]
Created as a Ko-Matoran, Baaru was placed on an unidentified island somewhere in the Matoran Universe upon its completion, living among other Matoran of Ice, including his friend Sorru. At some point, both he and Sorru received Toa Stones and were transformed into Toa of Ice.
When the island of Metru Nui was attacked by the Kanohi Dragon, Toa Baaru and Toa Sorru were among those who responded to Turaga Dume's summons. Together with three other Toa of Ice -- Sorru, Irus, and Arktus -- Baaru used his elemental powers to help contain the Kanohi Dragon and ultimately contain it. After the Rahi's defeat, Baaru decided to remain on Metru Nui as a member of the newly-formed Toa Mangai. Along with Sorru, he spent much time in Ko-Metru and often studied with the Ko-Matoran Scholars.
When Makuta Teridax impersonated Turaga Dume, he sent Baaru and Sorru on a joint mission that took them away from Metru Nui, luring them into being killed by the Dark Hunter Eliminator.
Abilities and Traits[]
Like most Ko-Matoran, Baaru tended to be uptight and aloof. Even as a Toa, he rarely interacted with his teammates and preferred to keep to himself.
