Aurosian were Carapar's species inhabiting the regions along the Tren Krom River on the Southern Continent.
Biography[]
Shortly after the successful departure of the Great Spirit Robot from Spherus Magna, Mata Nui became somewhat overeager with the creation of new species to serve additional functions, resulting in the plethora of different species that would come to inhabit the Matoran Universe. The Aurosian species was one such creation.
The Aurosian race existed to build up the landscape of the Southern Continent. Mata Nui viewed the Southern Continent as underdeveloped, particularly because of the important roles many of its natives shared. Mata Nui established the Aurosian race along the Tren Krom River where they could ship supplies easily, and where they could move quickly throughout much of the Continent. Mata Nui’s plan was, once they were done developing the Southern Continent, for them to move on, beyond the Continent, moving as a population throughout the universe, building up lands. Upon creation, the Aurosians set about their task.
However, Velika's tampering with the sapient species of the Matoran Universe put a stop to this, as they soon lost interest in their duty. Following the rise to power of one of their own, Carapar, teams of Aurosians were used to build large fortresses for the League’s kings. The land of the Aurosians themselves fell under the control of Mantax.
Following the fall of the League, much of the Aurosian population went inactive. They maintained their position along the Tren Krom River, but for the most part failed to develop the Southern Continent. Some small detachments of Aurosians found work hiring themselves out to island rulers and organizations, but these were often in the minority. Most Aurosians had no interest in construction.
The Aurosian populace has since abandoned the Great Spirit Robot after it was rendered uninhabitable.
Abilities and Traits[]
In creating the Aurosian, Mata Nui had intended them to be likea sort of reverse-Bohrok, building up the civilizations throughout the universe. Aurosians are talented construction workers when they put their mind to it; most of them just haven’t following Velika’s interference.
While their lands along the Tren Krom River are far more developed than most of the Southern Continent, that was largely carried over from when they were building up the land pre-Velika. Those few teams of Aurosians who construct as they were meant to are highly regarded throughout the universe.
