Arkus Majoris (System) is a star system, once containing the homeworld of the Hyralise people, Hyralisk.
History[]
Arkus Majoris as a system was formed some five or six billion years ago with three planets in the system. Hyralisk, the Hyralise homeworld, was the only planet which naturally supported life, albeit mostly reptilian animals. When the Hyralise rose to be space-faring, they colonized the other two planets in the system in order to offset population growth.
Their technology led to some rudimentary terraforming of planets in the system, such that vegetation similar to cacti began to form on Hyralisk's surface, giving it a greenish tinge. The other two planets in the system also developed some vegetation, although Potaneus, given its closeness to the star, was mostly uninhabitable save for one small habitation dome.
Herl'Be'Zaatch led a purge of surface-dwelling Hyralise sometime after a minor civil war erupted on Likorin between underground dwellers and surface upper-class, meaning that most of these planets lost their terraformed appearance.
When Teridax (Spherus Imperus) found the system and began subjugation of the Hyralise people, he destroyed their terrfaorming devices and destroyed the planet of Hyralisk. The system is now mostly barren.
Ownership[]
Arkus Majoris used to be under the control of the Hyralise Hegemony. Following Teridax's attack, the system was abandoned and is not currently controlled by any one faction.
