Arktus was one of four Toa Mangai of Ice.
History[]
Created as a Ko-Matoran, Arktus was placed on an unidentified island somewhere in the Matoran Universe upon its completion, living among other Matoran of Ice. At some point, he received a Toa Stone and was transformed into a Toa of Ice.
When the island of Metru Nui was attacked by the Kanohi Dragon, Toa Arktus was among those who responded to Turaga Dume's summons. Together with three other Toa of Ice -- Baaru, Irus, and Sorru -- Arktus used his elemental powers to help contain the Kanohi Dragon and ultimately contain it. After the Rahi's defeat, Arktus decided to remain on Metru Nui as a member of the newly-formed Toa Mangai.
Due to his jovial personality, which was uncharacteristic of most Ice-types, Arktus often felt unwelcomed in Ko-Metru and thus tended to accept missions that took him away from Metru Nui. When Makuta Teridax captured and impersonated Turaga Dume, he sent Arktus on one of these missions which turned out to be a ruse, setting him up to be killed by the Dark Hunter Eliminator.
Abilities and Traits[]
Unlike most Ko-Matoran, who tend to be uptight and aloof, Arktus was a more jovial and spirited soul. Because of this, the Ko-Matoran of Metru Nui found him difficult to relate with and Arktus often found himself feeling unwelcome in Ko-Metru. As such, he tended to accept missions that took him away from Metru Nui.
