The Arena Match of Arctica vs. Verex was an Arena Match between a Glatorian of the Ice Tribe and a hired Glatorian of the Fire Tribe.
History[]
Dispute[]
The Ice Tribe attempted to claim the ownership over a large supply of recently discovered Water Stones. However, the Fire Tribe also attempted to claim ownership of the Water Stones, resulting in a dispute between the two villages. In order to settle the debate, the tribes agreed to have one of their fighters do battle in an arena. As they could not spare their primary warriors at the time, the Fire Tribe hired the freelance Skrall warrior, Verex, who journeyed to the village of Iconox with his companions and the fire Agori Carza. The Ice Tribe decided to send one of their Glatorian trainees, Arctica, to represent them, being unable to spare their prime Glatorian Strakk.
Fight[]
Verex eventually arrived, and the two fighters immediately charged at one another. As both of their weapons met, Arctica fired a Thornax from her launcher and forced Verex back. Separating her shield into two separate blades, Arctica assumed the offensive. Verex, raising his shield just in time to block Arctica's blow, managed to delay Arctica long enough for him to wrap his tail around the female Glatorian's right leg and throw her onto the ground. However, before the final blow could be dealt, Arctica managed to defend herself from Verex's blade using her blades, though remained tired and exhausted from the Skrall's relentless blows. With victory in his grasp, Verex offered Arctica the chance to concede, an offer Arctica accepted.
Aftermath[]
With Verex's victory on behalf of the Fire Tribe, the Water Stones were relinquished to the village of Vulcanus. As a reward for his victory, the Fire Tribe supplied Verex and his companions with numerous bags of supplies, and had Verex's Rock Steed and Ranzesk's Sand Stalker fed and given water. Verex and his allies then departed Iconox and headed into the wastelands with the pair Vernax and Grepex.
