History[]

Ardak was one of the very first Matoran created by the Great Beings. and worked on constructing the Matoran Universe with his fellow Av-Matoran. He was among the Av-Matoran who colonized Karda Nui, and was working there during the Avohkah attacks. Ardak was nearly killed by the sentient lightning bolts, but was saved by Toa Mata Pohatu. The Toa Mata were eventually able to eliminate the Avohkah, and the Matoran were able to return to their homeland safely. He was later relocated to Metru Nui by the Order of Mata Nui during the Time Slip, disguising himself as an Onu-Matoran during the event.

Ardak would then live his life working as an Archivist in Onu-Metru. One day, while he was working, a Makuta named Salzak kidnapped him and used Shadow Leeches to transform him into a Shadow Matoran. Ardak would later become a Toa of Shadow sometime after and was hand picked to lead his own Toa team. The former leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta, Miserix, would then select Ardak and his team to serve as his personal bodyguards. Much later, when Teridax betrayed Miserix and attempted a coup d'etat against his former leader, Ardak and his team were dispatched to kill all the Makuta who sided with Teridax in order to stop him from attempting to take over the Matoran Universe. They would eventually succeed in killing them all, but at a great cost, since five members of Ardak's team, which included Trovan, were killed, while two other members, Murkhor and Nysa, were incapacitated in accomplishing this. Ardak would ultimately become the one to fight Teridax alone, and after a long and tough battle, he succeeded in killing the former second in command by swiftly decapitating him with his Shadow Sword.

Their destiny now completed, Miserix relieved Ardak and the remainder of his team free from service, and the team soon disbanded and went their separate ways travelling to distant lands. Ardak eventually became a Turaga some 300 years later. He would then spend the next few decades working as a researcher and historian, for he had a fascination with researching about events that had happened in Metru Nui's past, with his favorite topic to research about being the Matoran Civil War.

Much later, a universe traveling robot from a different universe named Kuurk would arrive on Metru Nui. Kuurk would soon befriend Ardak and the two would become close friends, with the Turaga even going far as to mentor and teach Kuurk on how to properly use his wide variety of elemental powers. Kuurk would later approach him in starting an Empire, in which Ardak agreed to help him create. Eventually, Kuurk's Empire became an organization of peace and good will, with many notable beings from distant lands getting invitations for joining the group. Kuurk's Empire soon began its operations, with Ardak being appointed by Kuurk as the Chairman of his Empire.

Much later, Salzak would invade Kuurk's Empire by entering the fortress' eastern entrance and fought against Ardak when the Makuta spotted him. During the battle, Salzak broke the Turaga's Mask of Sensory Aptitude by punching him really hard in the face by using his Shadow Hand, rendering the Turaga of Shadow unconscious. Kuurk would then see what was happening and stepped in to fight the Makuta before he could finish his old enemy off. After a brief battle with the overlord, Salzak was slain after being fatally shot in the chest by Kuurk.

At some point, Ardak would later pass away from old age, but Kuurk kept his mentor's Kanohi in his Throne Gallery as a memoir to his old friend. As a result of his death naturally occuring, Ardak was not revived on the Red Star.

Abilities and Traits[]

As an Av-Matoran, Ardak had a dormant control over Light, however, this was drained away when he became a Shadow Matoran, and was replaced with the ability to fire small Shadow Bolts from his hands. His Shadow powers were increased tenfold when Ardak became a Toa, and was slightly decreased when he became a Turaga, though despite his old age, Ardak was still capable of fighting, and almost completely capable of defending himself in most forms of melee combat.

Ardak was known to be a great storyteller, and was recognized for his kind, encouraging words of wisdom in times of great peril.
