The Kanohi Ankusis is the Mask of Scents. Its usage is widespread, and it is classified as a Sensory power.
The Kanohi Ankusis allows the user to lock onto a scent and alter it. Many beings use it to cover their tracks, if on the run from Rahi or while hunting, but it is used just as commonly as a form of sensory art in parts of the Six Kingdoms.
History[]
As society within the Matoran Universe blossomed and expanded following the Great Spirit Robot's launch, mask makers across the universe honed and refined their skills and began to craft new designs. These masks were not neccessarily as directly relevant to the maintenance of the Great Spirit, but served some now-lost purpose within the newly born civilization.
The Kanohi Ankusis was one such mask. Employed predominantly by trappers and hunters in the southern island chains, the Ankusis became an invaluable tool in any Rahi hunter's arsenal, as they could use it to either analyse their environment, or create lures to trick a Rahi into revealing its location.

Those on the run from the Toa Empire might sometimes employ a Kanohi Ankusis in order to cover their tracks from Spinax hounds or similar tracker Rahi.
