The Kanohi Althi was the Mask of Possession. It allowed its user to project their spirit out of their body and possess the body of another, repositioning any spirits already inside into a sort of purgatory. The user would remain in the body for one minute, with most of the host body's powers at their disposal.
While using the mask, the user's body would be functionally deceased, making it susceptible to possession by other free-floating spirits and manipulation by powers over the dead. Even when possessing a body, the user's spirit could be detected by a user of an Elda or a similar mask.

- Toa considered the Althi to be immoral, and as such, they would choose not to wear it. Other races, such as the Arbiters and the Thromexx, also considered the mask to be taboo or even cursed.
