Alazar is a Turaga of Fire and former member of the Toa Echra.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Alazar originally lived as a Ta-Matoran at the western border of the Northern Continent, usually dwelling around the outskirts of Matoran Villages and coming across messengers and travelers alike. When he wasn't participating in his favorite pastime activities, he usually lived in an abandoned Ta-Matoran village somewhere near the spots he would hang out at the most.
Not having friends for most of his early life, Alazar would usually talk to inanimate objects in private about what was on his mind and grew to enjoy such a habit. Yet despite his antisocial disposition, he was somehow elected by Ta-Matoran officials as part of the major defense force for a diverse Echran settlement of Matoran on the coast called Sparks. There he helped protect numerous Matoran of different elements from invading Rahi and whatnot. This in turn caused him to rise from his original personality and befriend other team mates in the force.
However, it was on one fateful mission that a pair of aggressive Kane-Ra and Muaka began to attack the small town. The invasion was too deadly and powerful for the defense force to control, evidently leading to the death of more than ten Matoran, including some of Alazar's fellow protectors. Alazar was still able to survive the battle, though a bit wounded from the action, eventually deserting the Defense force and ruined Village altogether.

Personality and Mask[]
As a Ta-Matoran, Alazar was usually secretive about his life towards others, sometimes to the point where he would become harshly defensive if such topics were brought up in a conversation. Though after becoming a Toa and meeting Metztli, he was able to open up and lessen these tendencies. Eventually to the point that it unexpectedly brought out a more fun-loving and mischievous side to his persona.

- Alazar gets his name from that of the Turkic Fire deity "Alaz", who was known for sending flame spirits to hearths and purifying souls.
- Alternatively, his name also derives from a combination of the first bullet point as well as the name of "Salazar".
