The Aho Nui Police Force (or ANPF for short) functioned as a paramilitary law-enforcement organization from 349 to 1 BRS, founded by and under the command of Aho Nui's Turaga Gaeta.
History[]
When Turaga Gaeta came to power in 350 BRS, he quickly realized he needed a group of devoted warriors to rule the war-scarred island whose inhabitants were notorious for overthrowing any leader not popular enough. He began to recruit fighters for an official paramilitary force weeks after his installment, and eight months later, the ANPF was fully operational.
The ANPF quickly eclipsed any other law-enforcing organization the island had had in the past, such as loosely structured groupings of Toa, and became the only executive power of Aho Nui, encompassing every task from traffic regulation to criminal investigation.
Apart from fulfilling usual police tasks like the two cited above, the ANPF helped Gaeta to install a climate of fear and paranoia in Aho Nui, terrorizing the citizen by the means of razzias, telephonic monitoring and public hangings.

Only Matoran were allowed to join the ANPF, while their Elements were of no importance. A certain physical fitness was required, as were a certain intelligence and leadership aptitude.
Ever since the ANPF's installment, its leaders had been using Vahki and Kranua to control high-criminality areas of Central City, such as the most remote outskirts or Fenrakk Borough. These robots received the standard bright orange coat of paint while keeping their tools as distinctive feature.
Additionally, from 329 BRS on, the ANPF also used Heavy-Class Cop-Bots to control rough areas of Central City. These received the standard coat of paint as well.
Equipment[]
Every Matoran wore an additional, bright orange layer of armor over their natural armor. While on duty, they were requested to don an orange Kanohi of their choice, a protective visor, however, was obligatory.
The standard tool was a Stun Staff, which, used properly, could fully paralyze a Matoran-sized being for two hours.
