The Addenda (singular Addendum) are a race of astral entities that exist in the physical realm in a ghostlike form. They can not be seen by the naked eye, and are capable of bonding with a host in order to physically interact with the world around them.

History[]

To be written

Abilities and Traits[]

The Addenda have no physical bodies, and thus have no way of interacting with their surroundings. This does award them with certain advantages, such as being uninhibited by walls or other barriers. They manifest as an energy of consciousness, detectable only by psychics and telepaths.

They are capable of bonding with a host body to interact with the world around them. When they do this they assume partial control if the body and access to all its abilities, emotions and memories. This works best when the host is a willing participant, but a Addendum can briefly assume complete control if necessary. The length of this period depends on the strength of the host and that of the Addendum, but is almost always finite.

Behavior and Psychology[]

The Addenda are emotionless, their normal state being incapable of handling more than logical thought. They base their actions on hard logic, making it hard for them to understand the actions of emotional beings.

However, when bonded Addenda gain access to the emotional faculties of their host. This can often be overwhelming, and leads to what the Addenda refer to as a facade: a personality for the Addendum that develops and appears only while bonded. This has led to many Addenda using bonding as a last resort.

Social Structure and Interactions[]

Addenda are not social creatures, and while they are capable of interacting with each other rarely do. As they cannot be harmed or endangered, they do not need each other and therefore do not bother with each other's company. There is no society, no culture to which they adhere, most spend their lives away from others of their race. They can adapt to any culture they may encounter as long as they bond to one familiar with it.
