Aanaro is an island in Rukanor-Zar's eastern hemisphere.
History[]
Aanaro has existed since before the species of the Matoran Universe arrived on Rukanor-Zar. It was colonized by the Matoran themselves about 3 millennia after their arrival. They quickly organized themselves into groups based on Elemental affiliation, and founded villages in their preferred environments.
Landscape[]
Aanaro has 4 main environments: forests, plains, mountains, and coastal beaches.
Rezu[]
The Great Forest of Rezu is located on the western part of Aanaro. It is primarily inhabited by Bo- and Le-Matoran, though some Onu-Matoran live there due to the trees blocking out most of the light.
Kovarr[]
Kovarr is the mountain range along Aanaro's southern edge. The peaks are covered with snow year-round, and the air is thin. This makes it an ideal environment for Ko-Matoran, who have built the town of Ko-Aaro atop one of the peaks. A cave system exists under Kovarr. Here, Onu-Matoran have founded Aika, one of the island's two large cities.
Luraki[]
The grasslands that cover the rest of the island are known as the Luraki. The plains are dotted with settlements of Po-Matoran. There is also a village of Le-Matoran who didn't feel at home in the tall trees of Rezu Forest, and thus chose to live on the plains.
Ga-Xoru[]
Ga-Xoru is a region separated from the rest of Aanaro by a shallow sea. Its environment is remarkably similar to that of Luraki. The Ga-Matoran have constructed the city of Zala along the islet's northern edge.
Inhabitants[]
Sapient Species[]
Most of Aanaro's sapient inhabitants are Matoran, though other MU species have been known to live on the island as well.
Rahi[]
The wildlife of Aanaro is made up of both Rahi from the MU, and altered versions of Rukanor-Zar's native animals that were modified into Rahi.
